Two more weeks and it is that time of the year again; the day of love. A day we all know as Valentine’s Day. So while cupid is playing with his magic arrows, we have to dress up for the occasion and make our lips kissable for that special moment. Well okay, as sexy red lips may look amazing, it’s far from practical. I even think your partner will hate you for a moment when you kiss him/her with red lips. Still, I love to go for a kissable red lip and within a few steps you will have the perfect red lips yourself.
A step we often forget – but is as important as the rest of your lip-look – is to scrub your lips before you apply your lip shade. We want our lips to be the softest possible, so time to remove the dead skin. You can do this with an overrated lip-scrub, or make one yourself with honey and sugar. Or do it even easier and use your toothbrush on your lips.
For a longer lasting lip, you should hydrate your lips with any transparent lipbalm after you scrubbed your lips. In this way your lipstick wouldn’t feel dry when applying. Especially it you use a matt one like I almost always do.
3. TRANSPARENT LIP LINER
There are fifty shades of red, maybe even fifty-thousand. That makes finding the perfect matching lipliner a hard job. Especially when you like to variate with your colors but don’t want to buy a new liner to match every lipstick. That’s why I use a transparent lipliner, which is not only super soft, but goes with every color. It prevents from blurry lips and make your line the strongest.
4. THE PERFECT RED SHADE
It can be hard to find the perfect shades, because one shade that fits person X, doesn’t directly mean it fits you as well. Go to the store and try out different colors to see what looks the best on you. If you look for a red with more blue than yellow, you are sure it will fits almost everyone including you. One more tip; apply the outer corners of your lips with a little pencil first to give your lips more volume. Happy kissing!
