Writing this post straight after my trip from Austria. Yesterday afternoon we returned from another great weekend skiing in Kitzbühel, my last skiing trip for this season (meeehhh). In case you aren’t subscribed to my YouTube channel and haven’t seen it yet, there is a whole vlog about it live right now, so for some snow fun you can check that one out! With that being said, I wanted to go to today’s subject, which is how to pack your carry on for a weekend skiing. Skiing often involves a lot of warm, so heavy, stuff. This makes it quite hard to get it all in your 90L suitcase. But not with these tips!
I often make the mistake that I take too many things with me on holiday, but after all the short trips I have done last year, I improved my packing skills and managed it to pack my trolley without sitting on it to close (yes, been there done that). First to say, if you go skiing for just a weekend, let’s say 2 or 3 days on the slopes, than one skiing pants, one jacket, one pair of socks and 2 sweaters – a thin and thicker one – should be enough. For the evenings you should keep it simple because hey, you are on an active vacation, not fashionweek! A jeans, t’shirt and simple turtleneck should be enough though. When it comes to the heavier things, my tip is to wear these, like I am doing here with my cool, but big sweater boyfriend sweatshirt.
Same with shoes, take just one pair that fits all your outfits, but also survive a bit of snow and mud with après skiing. Classic Timberlands are the best way to go here! For you beauty bags, you should take all your mini’s, try out tubes and carry-on pots with you. This will save half the amount of space in your beauty bag and makes your trolley less heavy. Because I travel so often I have my beauty bag always ready to go. Only need to put my toothbrush in it and I am all set for my trip! What are your best tips to pack of a weekend outside the country? Let me know in the comments!
