Besides changing your wardrobe season after season, you shouldn’t forget updating your beauty stash as well. During summer, your make-up routine probably change as well compared to winter. You can use more bronzing powders and highlighters, go fresher with fragrances and apply a lot of happy summer colors on your nails. Read about each photo below why you should have them in your summer beauty bag this season and why they are my favourite.
During summer, we do everything for a flawless skin. I love to walk around without make-up, showing off my freckles and summer tan. So let’s skip the heavy foundation and go for something lighter. As you may know by know, the Estée Lauder DayWear really is my favourite product in the world. It accents your own skin tone and gives this beautiful natural glow. To shape my face a little bit, I do love to use the Phyto-Touche from Sisley. A bronzing powder and blush in one. Of course a beautiful shimmer can’t miss. Therefor I use this super cheap highlighting powder from MUA which I do like to apply on my cheekbones, on the top of my nose, but also my shoulders and arms.
I love green and fresh fragrances during spring and summer. While I go for more sexy and intense perfumes during winter, this really is my to-go fragrance right now. The Verveine Eau de Toilette from L’Occitane really is a fragrance you have to try. It feels like walking into a sunflower field in the middle of France. Spray some and dream away. And don’t forget to add the matching Bodycréme for a beautiful smell all day long.
Do I need to example this? A tanned skin and beachy hair just asks for coral lips. It makes your look softer, but also really accent this ultimate I-am-on-a-summer-holiday-feeling. My forever favourite is the Rouge Pure Couture from YSL, but if you would like to go for a matt version, I like to advice Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in the exact same color. Lately I also discovered the Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist in a coral color as well, which is the perfect lipstick to take with you in your beach bag.
For summer, I do like to go for colors on my nails. From bold pink or blue, to pastels or even a midnight purple one. As long as it has color, it works for me. Having a good manicure and pedicure is really important for me. During winter, I usually never wear nail polish so my toes can recover from wearing nail polish all summer long. So when you go for sandals, make sure to think about these colors and do that pedi!
This is the invention of the century and really a travel goodie you need to have in your beach bag this summer. The Sisley Floral Spray Mist and Garnier Ambre Solaire with SPF 50. Because of the sun, the sea wind and the water, your skin sometimes needs an extra boost. The Sisley Mist is a perfect add for extra hydration and the Garnier mist is the best way to apply sun protection without taking too much effort. And they’re light in travel!
For the evening, I like my perfume a little more sensual. The Terre de Lumber Eau de Perfume from L’Occitane really feels like you are kissed by a summer goddess. Take on your long summer dress and heeled sandals and be the queen of the beach party!
Last but not least; bodylotion. Because of, again, all the water, wind and sun, your skin gets dry. Extra hydration is really necessary and why not make it more fun with these cute pies from EOS. The smell is super fresh and can be mixed with any perfume. Perfect in case you don’t want to spend too much money on matching bodylotions and still want to smell good.
