Ahh London, this vibrant city. It feels like yesterday, but it’s already 1,5 week ago that we have been on a three day city trip to London. For the ones who follow me for a longer while, may know that I have lived in the city for three months for an English course, but I can image it’s new news for you since this is already four years ago. Anyway, because of my little adventure there, it always feels a little bit like coming home. I know the city quite well, I know how the people are there and what to do. So you can imagine that, taking my boyfriend to London, was all about seeing as much as we could. Continue reading to learn about the best things to do when you’re on a city trip to London!
London has so much to offer. It can be a very traditional city, when you stroll around Covent Garden for example, with beautiful high and old buildings. But it can be also very urban when you go to Shore Ditch or Camden Town. Enjoy the streetstyle and graffiti over there, which I personally really love. Or walk around the coloured houses in Notting Hill. The perfect spot for taking good Instagram pictures and get inspired!
In every city you just must take the time to search for good food. Nobody loves touristic places with overrated, bad food. Nope. Search for quality places instead which are often much cheaper as well. One of our highlights were Farm Girl in Notting Hill and The Ivy in Covent Garden. But if you like some street food, don’t forget to go to Shore Ditch and discover The Frog or Boxpark, or have a visit in Camden Town. You will be surprised of what you find there..
When in London, there is just one thing you need to do when it comes to taking photos; play the tourist and go to that telephone cell. There is just one place in the world with the original ones, so take your moment to show the world you have been to London!
Waterloo is probably the most beautiful station of London and the most central one if you want to go to the London Eye, the Big Ben or the Thames to see the Palace. There are often markets around, so if the weather allows you to, then crap a piece of bread and go sit somewhere to enjoy the breathtaking view. Really worth taking a moment to relax and enjoy.
While my city trips are often about comfortable yet fashionable wear, you can go bold in London (like in every big city actually..). Take that ballerina skirt with you and dress up for the night. Would be much appreciated by the creative Britains!
