As a real lover of designer pieces, I thought it might be a cool idea to share a post on how to afford designer and be sustainable at the same time. Ever since I started working, I learned a lot about how to deal with money. With this I mean on how to save it and spend it wisely. The key-word in this is balance. ‘With every penny you spend, you have to earn the double’, a wise man once told me. So while saving for my biggest hobby, I worked hard to make it come true.
Along the way, I found some cool ways to spend much less on great pieces. Think about sale- and outlet shopping, but also looking second hand. Great websites such as Vestiare Collective, were I got my skirt from, are a perfect ways to spend less on the it-piece you are looking for. And the best thing? You are doing good for the planet as well since you are giving pre-owned pieces a second life. Call it a win-win situation, but I just love it.

Pre-owned suede designer skirts
A suede midi-skirt really is a piece that shouldn’t be missing in your closet. It will last a life time and is definitely worth an investment. But, it might be even better to search online or in secondhand stores and get it pre-owned. For sure that you will find some jewels which you can give a second life, such as I did with this Vilshenko skirt.
Classic Chloé Susanna boots for less
My all time favorite boot must be the Chloé Susanna boots. I once got mine in a huge sale – lucky me, otherwise I would probably never have them – but there are some great pairs available second hand for much less. They fit true to size, so if you find yours for a good price then don’t be in a doubt.. ;-)
Valentino Rockstud crossbody for the win
For many seasons, one of the all time favorite bags must be the Valentino Rockstud bag. It comes in many variations, but if you want to go for comfort and easiness, a crossbody is the perfect match. And why not search for a pre-owned one and get a great deal? It can save you hundreds of Euros for the same bag that is in the stores.
